What motivates us to take a certain course? Possibility? A whim? Inspiration?
For Michael and Pauline Poulter, the owners & architects of Bluestone Lane Vineyard, it was all these reasons... and more.
Gazing across degraded paddocks in Balnarring some 15 years ago, together they knew that their search had ended - but the journey just begun. It seemed a world away for the master stone craftsman charged with restoring Melbourne’s heritage laneways.
They clasped each other’s hand tight; Bluestone Lane had its inception.
Michael’s success was founded through uniting experience & developing enthusiasm.
And sheer hard graft.
A bluestone path was forged into the property, hectares of vines established, a Cellar and Restaurant (Veraison Restaurant) erected, and a dedicated team assembled. The hard work paid off.
Successful & award winning early vintages of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay - the two varieties for Mornington Peninsula’s fame - caused excitement around the new label & garnered new devotees.
Yet secrets for a young Bluestone Lane were soon to be revealed...
